Unraveled Hunt

Gena Showalter’s YA series, Intertwined, about sixteen-year-old Aden Stone, a paranormal magnet who has had four souls trapped in his head, continues this fall with the release of UNRAVELED (Harlequin, September 2010). Now, Aden is down to three souls bossing him around, but along the way he’s picked up the title of Vampire King to add to his ever-growing list of worries (which includes a prophecy that says he’ll bite the dust after a knife through the heart). To celebrate UNRAVELED’s release, Gena and her YA buds are hosting a scavenger hunt on their blogs.

The all-star lineup of hunt participants includes authors Rachel Caine, PC Cast, Marley Gibson, Rosemary Clement-Moore and Tina Ferraro, as well as Gena, natch, and The Knight Agency blog. Three grand prize winners will each win a $100 Visa gift card, plus Gena's giving away signed copies of UNRAVELED to five lucky runner-ups. All you have to do is find all eight letters, unscramble them and email the word to Contests(AT)KnightAgency.net. To find out where the letters are hiding in the great internet universe, click here for a contest road map and rules.

This contest runs from Monday, August 30th to Thursday, September 2nd. All entries must be received by Monday, September 6th at midnight ET.

I don't know about you, but this sounds like tons of fun to me!

When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.

Shadow Hills ebook!

If you have a Nook or a Kindle here's a book you need to add to your collection!

If you haven't heard of the fanasticness that is this book, here's the summary for you:

His love captivated her... his secrets might kill her.

Since her sister’s mysterious death, Persephone “Phe” Archer has been plagued by a series of disturbing dreams. Determined to find out what happened to her sister, Phe enrolls at Devenish Prep in Shadow Hills, Massachusetts—the subject of her sister’s final diary entry.

After stepping on campus, Phe immediately realizes that there’s something different about this place—an unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s, an ancient and creepy cemetery, and gorgeous boy Zach—and somehow she’s connected to it all.

But the more questions she asks and the deeper she digs, the more entangled Phe becomes in the haunting past of Shadow Hills. Finding what links her to this town…might cost her her life.

Did you know that both Amazon & B&N have readers for your desktop? How cool is it that you don't have to buy an ereader to ebooks?

Skip a Starbucks Day

The idea behind Skip a Starbucks Day is simple, skip your Starbucks stop today & use the money you would have spent to help bring a little girl home to her family.
There's a little girl in China who's been waiting almost 5 years to be able to leave the orphanage she's been living in to live with a family who loves her here in the US. After several detours & delays, the only standing in the way of her finally getting to come home is being short on funding due China raising the orphanage & court fees.

Please everyone head over to CJ's blog & read her story. There's so much more to the story & I want you read it straight from her.

If you need an incentive, there are several people (including me) who have donated items that people who donate will be entered to win.

Please spread the word & donate to this wonderful cause.

Waiting on Wednesday (21)

Waiting on Wednesday is brought to you by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This weeks book is: The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
It releases: August 31st 2010

Summary:
Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: Jem, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa.

As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

If I had all day to read (8)

This is a meme from Kristin at Bookworming In The 21st Century. This month, 5 books I hope to read.
Last month I read (How many & which ones from the previous list.)

It really does seem like 2 is my lucky number on here. I only read 2 books off last months list, but I did read more than last month. I read Brightly Woven & Sea that were on my list.

1. The Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy

2. Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs

3. Perchance To Dream by Lisa Mantchev

4. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

5. Firelight by Sophie Jordan

If you had all day, which 5 would you pick?
